Both luxury SUVs project a unique identity. The INFINITI QX60 leans into traditional elegance with its bamboo-inspired waterfall grille, while the Acura RDX showcases its performance-oriented character through a frameless Diamond Pentagon grille. For a more expressive appearance, both offer blacked-out styling packages: A-Spec® for the RDX and the first-ever Sport trim for the QX60. The RDX further distinguishes itself with 20-inch Shark Gray alloy wheels, a finned rear diffuser, and larger round exhaust finishers.

Lighting serves as another point of differentiation between these models. The QX60 incorporates its signature Digital Piano Key headlights and taillights, while the RDX pairs Jewel Eye® LED headlights with Dragon Tail taillights for a more striking appearance. Beyond aesthetics, Acura’s Jewel Eye® multi-lens system casts a wider, more consistent beam pattern to enhance visibility while helping reduce glare for oncoming drivers.

Color is another area where these models express their individuality. The Acura RDX and the INFINITI QX60 each offer eye-catching exterior palettes, including vibrant shades of red and blue. However, the RDX gains an advantage with Acura’s exclusive Premium Paint Technology. This multi-layer process applies pigments beneath multiple tinted clear coats, creating exceptional depth, richness, and long-lasting brilliance.

Comfort Meets Craftsmanship

Inside, the Acura RDX and the INFINITI QX60 surround occupants with premium materials and amenities designed to provide a welcoming environment and elevate every drive. Similar standard or available features include:

That said, the RDX includes 12-way power-adjustable front seats as standard, compared to the QX60’s 8-way adjustment. Both models include ambient cabin lighting, though only the Acura offers available Iconic Drive™ Ambient Cabin Lighting with 27 customizable color themes to personalize the atmosphere.

Despite their size differences, the Acura RDX remains highly accommodating. With up to 79.8 cubic feet of cargo space, while the QX60 only offers 75.4 cubic feet.

Parallel Power

When it comes to powertrains, the Acura RDX and the INFINITI QX60 are closely matched, each powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine with similar output.

Transmission strategy is where they begin to differ. The QX60 uses a 9-speed automatic, while the RDX is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission, designed to provide more precise gear selection. It helps keep the engine operating optimally for smoother acceleration and more responsive performance at varying speeds.

Despite these differences, both models deliver strong efficiency, with nearly identical EPA-estimated fuel economy ratings that support longer drives between fuel stops.

Composed Handling

Handling plays a primary role in shaping the driving experience. The INFINITI QX60 offers a traditional setup with standard front-wheel drive and available all-wheel drive. The Acura RDX, by contrast, emphasizes driving dynamics with standard Super Handling All-Wheel Drive™, engineered to enhance traction in changing road and weather conditions while also improving cornering performance and overall road confidence.

Both SUVs include selectable drive modes that allow drivers to tailor responses to conditions or personal preference. The Acura’s Integrated Dynamics System includes Comfort, Normal, Sport, and Snow modes. The INFINITI’s Drive Mode Selector offers comparable settings.

For added control, the Acura RDX also offers an available Adaptive Damper system that continuously adjusts suspension firmness in milliseconds, delivering a more composed ride during relaxed cruising and sharper response when conditions demand greater precision.

Connected Sophistication

As true luxury SUVs, the Acura RDX and the INFINITI QX60 share a strong foundation of infotainment features, offering many of the same core technologies, such as:

While both SUVs include standard Google Built-in, the Acura RDX adds another layer of convenience with standard Amazon Alexa integration. This allows drivers to control music, access navigation, check weather updates, search online, and connect with smart home devices directly from the cabin. The INFINITI QX60 does not offer Alexa functionality.

Confidence Comes Standard

Safety is a core priority in both the Acura RDX and the INFINITI QX60, each offering a suite of advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) designed to help prevent or mitigate collisions by detecting potential hazards, monitoring blind spots, maintaining lane position, and adjusting speed in response to surrounding traffic. AcuraWatch™ comes standard on the RDX, while the QX60 offers similar brand-specific systems.

The Acura RDX also includes standard Traffic Sign Recognition, which identifies posted speed limits and displays them within the digital instrument cluster, helping drivers stay aware of changing road conditions. On the QX60, a similar feature is only available on select upper trim levels.

Further reinforcing its protective design, the RDX is built on Acura’s Advanced Compatibility Engineering™ (ACE™) body structure, which helps distribute crash energy away from the cabin to enhance occupant protection and overall peace of mind. The INFINITI QX60 does not offer a directly comparable structural system.
